about

Makin' choices

lyrics

We'd rather be poor and up to date than rich and stupid,
We'd rather be mud in the tires than a cog in the machine,
We'd rather be free to evolve than get trapped in the Maya,
And we'd rather collect experiences, than lumps of metal in our hands, or figures on a computer.

Man cries for normality in the face of change,
He would rather continue on the straight path of clear sight in full recognition of all to come,
But where's the mystery, surprise and delight in that?
If we can only realise the inevitability of evolution,
That change must and will eventually come,
We wouldn't be so quick to stand in its way,
And we wouldn't fear the worst-case scenario,
For we would know that as things continually develop,
Goodness comes and goes and comes and goes and comes,
And as we move forward to the next episode,
All that stays with us is the love we made and the moments we shared,
The distance we travelled and the peace we maintained.

Things change
Faces grow older
People get taller
And Smaller
But love endures

Buildings come
And go
Roads are laid
And then remade
But love endures

Individuals evolve
Feelings move
Newborns’ see their first light of day
Elders’ come to pass away
Tyrants cast tyranny
Felons commit felony
But love endures

We’d rather not bow down to those in the wrong
But we’re safe in the knowledge our love is strong

We’d rather not lie flat whilst the dragons strike
We’re training everyday day, gearing up for the fight

We’d rather not watch in vein as Earth (our planet) is broken down
Friends and foes in unison, it’s time to gather round

They can crush physicality with a boot from above
But we disagree with George on this; they’ll never take our love!

about

Schoolboy's Death Trio Bristol, UK

Heavy rhythms, dirty fuzz bass, and a front man simultaneously pushing ferocious saxophone and punk poetry.

Think Last Poets raging at the top of Cypress Hill with more than a touch of Sun Ra.
